Please do not drop off supplies at the Lions Campground.  Instead leave your name, contact number or address with the office staff.  Your generous offer of support will be relayed to our quests and should there be a need, they will contact you.

The Operators of the Lions Campground in Red Deer would like to help the evacuees of the fires in Ft. McMurray......  We will be opening up our tenting/rv area and facilities for up to 4 weeks for free, on a first come first serve bases.  These are 15amp power sites with fire pit and picnic table.  Proof of residency is required for more information please call the office at 403.342.8183


Lions Campground, located in the heart of Red Deer, combines the beauty of a park with the convenience of the city. The Red Deer River provides a striking backdrop to the campground, and campers are welcome to enjoy the expansive trail system that winds its way along the scenic waterway. Lions Campground is just minutes from the wealth of stores, cultural opportunities, and golf courses in Red Deer, so urban opportunities abound for people travelling through the region.

General Information

The campground is open from 1 May to 30 September.  Campground amenities include 138 - 30 amp full and semi-serviced sites including 12 new 50 amp deluxe RV sites.  Conveniently local in the park are washrooms, showers and laundry facilities.  Recreation opportunities include playgrounds, direct access to the Trans-Canada Trail and the Red Deer River.  There is an amphitheatre for interpretive programs offered by Kerry Wood Nature Centre.  Firewood and tokens are available from the campground office.
